Limitation of Emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds

(Paints, Varnishes and Vehicle Refinishing Products)

(Amendment) Regulations, 2010

BY VIRTUE of the powers conferred by articles 9 and

10(2) of the Environment Protection Act, and by article 38 of the

Product Safety Act, the Prime Minister has made the following

regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Limitation of Citation.

Emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (Paints, Varnishes and

Vehicle Refinishing Products) (Amendment) Regulations, 2010,

and they shall be read and construed as one with the Limitation

of Emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (Paints, Varnishes

and Vehicle Refinishing Products) Regulations, 2006 hereinafter L.N. 78 of 2006.

referred to as “the principal regulations”.

Regulation 2 of the principal regulations shall be

amended as follows

(a) for the definition “coating” there shall be

substituted the following

“ “coating” means any mixture, including all the

organic solvents or preparations containing organic

solvents necessary for its proper application, which is

used to provide a film with decorative, protective or

other functional effect on a surface;”;

(b) immediately after the definition “film” there shall

be inserted the following new definition

“ “mixture” means mixtures or solutions composed

of two or more substances;”; and

(c) the definition “preparation” shall be deleted.
