Commencement Notice of the Waste Management

(Management of Waste from Extractive Industries and

Backfilling) Regulations, 2009

BY virtue of the powers conferred by articles 9 and 10 of

the Environment Protection Act, article 60 of the Development

Planning Act, article 12 of the Occupational Health and Safety

Authority Act, and in terms of regulation 1 (2) of the Waste

Management (Management of Waste from Extractive Industries

and Backfilling) Regulations, 2009 as published by Legal Notice

22 of 2009, the Prime Minister and the Minister for Health, the

Elderly and Community Care, after consultation with the Malta

Environment and Planning Authority and the Occupational Health

and Safety Authority, have established 30th May, 2010 as the date

when the said regulations shall come into force.
