ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS (REGULATION) ACT

Electronic Communications Networks and Services (General)

(Amendment) Regulations, 2010

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 34 of the

Electronic Communications (Regulation) Act, the Minister for

Infrastructure, Transport and Communications, after consultation

with the Minister for Finance, the Economy and Investment and

with the Malta Communications Authority, has made the following

regulations

The title of these regulations is the Electronic

Communications Networks and Services (General) (Amendment)

Regulations, 2010 and they shall be read and construed as one with

the Electronic Communications Networks and Services (General)

Regulations, 2004, hereinafter referred to as “the principal

regulations”.

Immediately after paragraph (b) of Part B of the Eleventh

Schedule to the principal regulations there shall be added the

following new paragraphs

“(c) for a provisional licence for testing

purposes …………………………………€100

(d) for a provisional licence for trials on a non-

commercial and non-profit basis for a period not exceeding

two years

(i)

for the first year of the licence term €600

(ii)

for the second year of the licence term €800

Provided that the fees under subparagraphs (i)

and (ii) shall be charged on a pro rata basis subject to a

minimum fee of €100”.
