Two or Three-Wheel Motor Vehicles

(EC Type- Approval) (Amendment) Regulations, 2010

IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 38 to 40 of the

Product Safety Act, the Prime Minister, on the advice of the Malta

Standards Authority, has made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Two or Three-Wheel Citation.

Motor Vehicles (EC Type-Approval) (Amendment) Regulations,

2010, and they shall be read and construed as one with the Two or

Three-Wheel Motor Vehicles (EC Type-Approval) Regulations, L.N. 28 of 2003.

2003, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.

These regulations bring into effect the provisions of

(a) Directive 2009/62/EC of the European Parliament

and of the Council of 13 July 2009 relating to the space for

mounting the rear registration plate of two or three-wheel

motor vehicles (Codified version);

(b) Directive 2009/67/EC of the European Parliament

and of the Council of 13 July 2009 on the installation of

lighting and light-signalling devices on two or three-wheel

motor vehicles (Codified version);

(c) Directive 2009/78/EC of the European Parliament

and of the Council of 13 July 2009 on stands for two-wheel

motor vehicles (Codified version);

(d) Directive 2009/79/EC of the European Parliament

an of the Council of 13 July 2009 on passenger hand-holds on

two-wheel motor vehicles (Codified version);

(e) Directive 2009/80/EC of the European Parliament

an of the Council of 13 July 2009 on the identification of

controls, tell-tales and indicators for two or three-wheel motor

vehicles (Codified version);

(f) Commission Directive 2009/108/EC of 17 August

2009 amending, for the purposes of adapting it to technical

progress, Directive 97/24/EC of the European Parliament and

of the Council on certain components and characteristics of

two or three-wheel motor vehicles;

(g) Directive 2009/139/EC of the European Parliament

and of the Council of 25 November 2009 on statutory

markings for two- or three-wheel motor vehicles (Codified

version).
