PREVENTION OF MONEY LAUNDERING ACT

Prevention of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism
(Amendment) Regulations, 2009
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 12 of the
Prevention of Money Laundering Act, the Minister of Finance, the
Economy and Investment has made the following regulations:-
The title of these regulations is the Prevention of Money Citation.
Laundering and Funding of Terrorism (Amendment) Regulations,
2009 and they shall be read and construed as one with the Prevention S.L. 373.01
of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Regulations,
hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".
In regulation 2 of the principal regulations, the definition Amends
regulation 2 of
"relevant financial business" shall be amended as follows
the principal
regulations.
(a)
in paragraph (c) thereof, for the words "Insurance
Intermediaries Act;" there shall be substituted the words
"Insurance Intermediaries Act, any affiliated insurance business Cap. 487.
carried on by a person in accordance with the Insurance S.L.403.11.
Business (Companies Carrying on Business of Affiliated
Insurance) Regulations, and any business of insurance carried
on by a cell company in accordance with the provisions of the
Companies Act (Cell Companies Carrying on Business of S.L.386.10
Insurance) Regulations;"; and
(b) in paragraph (f) thereof, immediately after the words
"a collective investment scheme" there shall be added the words
"marketing its units or shares,".
Sub-regulation (3) of regulation 10 of the principal Amends
regulation 10 of
regulations shall be amended as follows
the principal
regulations.
(a)
in paragraph (a) thereof, for the words "life
insurance" there shall be substituted the word "insurance"; and
(b) in paragraph (b) thereof, for the words "life
insurance" there shall be substituted the word "insurance".
