ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ACT

(CAP. 435)

Establishment of the Majjistral, Nature and History Park

(Amendment) Regulations, 2009

BY virtue of the powers conferred by article 9 of the

Environment Protection Act, the Prime Minister has made the

following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Establishment of the

Majjistral, Nature and History Park (Amendment) Regulations, 2009

and they shall be read and construed as one with the Establishment of

the Majjistral Nature and History Park Regulations, 2007 hereinafter

referred to as “the principal regulations”.

Sub-regulation (1) or regulation 9 of the principal

regulations shall be amended as follows:-

(a) for the words “seven members” there shall be

substituted the words “eight members”; and

(b) immediately after paragraph (c) thereof, there shall

be added the following new paragraph

“(d) one member representing the Local Council of

Mellieha.”.

Immediately after sub-regulation (2) or regulation 10 of

the principal regulations there shall be added the following new

sub-regulations:-

“(3) The Park Manager shall abide by any law,

regulation or other official order given by the management board

and shall not carry out any works or appoint any person to carry

out works in the Park unless the Management Board would have

previously given its approval.

(4) The Park Manager may in cases of emergency

take any action as necessary and inform the management board

immediately of his actions.”.
