POLICE LICENCES ACT

(CAP. 128)

Police Licences (Amendment) Regulations, 2009

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 3 of the Police

Licences Act, the Minister of Justice and Home Affairs has made the

following regulations:-

(1) The title of these regulations is the Police Licences Title and

(Amendment) Regulations, 2009, and they shall be read and commencement.

"2. In these regulations, unless the context otherwise

requires –

"Commissioner" means the Commissioner of

Police;

"licence" has the meaning assigned to it in the

Police Licences Act;

"shop" means any shop, stall, kiosk, store, public

house, inn, restaurant, eating house, tavern or other place

where wares, merchandise, commodities and other goods

are sold, whether by wholesale or retail, or where any art

or trade is carried on.".

Regulation 4 of the principal regulations shall be amended Amends

the proviso to sub-regulation (1) shall be deleted;

(b) the words ", other than a licence for the use of a

motor vehicle," in sub-regulation (2) shall be deleted;

(c) for sub-regulation (3) there shall be substituted the

"(3) Licences issued or renewed in respect of one

or more specified dates or periods shall lapse on the date

indicated thereon.".

Regulation 5 of the principal regulations shall be amended

as follows

(a) in paragraph (a) in the proviso to sub-regulation (1) for the

words from "and which is neither the use" to the words "international

certificate of motor vehicle, or a sporting licence" there shall be

substituted the words "and which is not a sporting licence", and the

words "(other than the fee leviable under the proviso to item 62 of the

First Schedule)" shall be deleted;

(b) paragraphs (b) and (c) in the proviso to sub-regulation (1)

shall be deleted; and

(c) sub-regulations (3) and (4) shall be deleted;

Regulation 10 of the principal regulations shall be deleted.

Regulation 11 of the principal regulations shall be

amended as follows

(a)

sub-regulation (2) shall be deleted;

(b) in sub-regulation (3) for the words "in sub-regulations (1)

and (2)" there shall be substituted the words "in sub-regulation (1)".

Items 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 70A, 70B, 71,

72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, and sub-item (c) of item 82 in the First

Schedule to the principal regulations, shall be deleted.
