Digital Radio Broadcasting (Amendment) Regulations, 2008

IN exercise of the powers conferred by subarticle (2) of article

16B of the Broadcasting Act, the Prime Minister, following agreement

with the Broadcasting Authority, has made the following regulations>

(1) These regulations may be cited as the Digital Radio

Broadcasting (Amendment) Regulations, 2008 and shall be read and

construed as one with the principal regulations.

(2) These regulations shall come into force on 1 st October,

2008.

The words “1st October to 30th September 2009” in sub-

regulation (2) of regulation 12 of the principal regulations shall be

substituted by the words “1st October 2008 to 30th September 2010”.

The words “You are permitted to apply for only specialized

stations and up to five such stations.” in Part II – Local Programme

Content of Appendix I of the principal regulations shall be deleted.

Schedule II of the principal regulations shall be amended as

follows>

(a) the words “1st October, 2009” in paragraph 2 thereof

shall be substituted by the words “1st October 2010”<

(b) the words “1st October 2009 till 30th September 2013”

in paragraph 3 thereof shall be substituted by the words “1st October

2010 till 30th September 2014”<

(c) the words “1st October 2013” in paragraph 5 thereof

shall be substituted by the words “1st October 2014”.
