METROLOGY ACT

(CAP. 454)

Making Up by Weight or by Volume of Certain Prepackaged

Products (Amendment) Regulations, 2008

IN exercise of the powers conferred by regulation 19 of the

Metrology Act, the Malta Standards Authority has made the following

regulations>–

(1) The title of these regulations is Making-Up by Weight Citation, scope and

commencement.

or by Volume of Certain Prepackaged Products (Amendment)

Regulations, 2008 and they shall be read and construed as one with the

Making-Up by Weight or by Volume of Certain Prepackaged Products

Regulations, 2002, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”. L.N. 417 of 2002.

(2) The present regulations implement the requirements of

Directive 2007#45#EC of the European Parliament and of the Council

of 5 th September 2007 laying down rules on nominal quantities for

prepacked products.

(3) These regulations shall come into force on 11 th April,

2009.

In regulation 3 of the principal regulations, the words “with Amends regulation
