TRADING LICENCES ACT

Trading Licences (Amendment) Regulations, 2008

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 28 of the Trading

Licences Act, the Minister for Finance, Economy and Investment

has made the following regulations:–

The title of these regulations is the Trading Licences

(Amendment) Regulations, 2008 and they shall be read and construed

as one with the Trading Licences Regulations, 2006, hereinafter

referred to as “the principal regulations”.

In regulation 36 of the principal regulations, in sub-

regulation (2) thereof, for the words “of these regulations.” there

shall be substituted the words “of these regulations:”, and

immediately”thereafter there shall be added the following proviso

“Provided that the Minister may in certain special

circumstances,“by notice in the Gazette and, if he so deems fit,

in any other publication of his choice

(a) grant an exemption to the minimum limit of

business hours during which commercial premises may

remain open to carry out commercial activities for the

customers; and

(b) approve the opening of commercial premises on

Sundays and public holidays.”.
