Two or Three Wheel Motor Vehicles (EC-Type Approval)

(Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 2007

IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 38 to 40 of the

Product Safety Act, 2001, the Minister for Competitiveness and

Communications, on the advice of the Malta Standards Authority, has

made the following regulations>-

(1) The title of these regulations is the Two or Three Wheel Citation and

commencement.

Motor Vehicles (EC-Type Approval) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations,

2007, and they shall be read and construed as one with the Two or

Three Wheel Motor Vehicles (EC-Type Approval) Regulations, 2003, L.N. 28 of 2003.

hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.

(2) These regulations implement the requirements of

( a) COMMISSION DIRECTIVE 2006#72#EC of 18 August

2006 amending for the purposes of adapting to technical progress

Directive 97#24#EC of the European Parliament and of the Council

on certain components and characteristics of two or three-wheel

motor vehicles< and

(b) COMMISSION DIRECTIVE 2006#120#EC of 27

November 2006 correcting and amending Directive 2005#30#EC

amending, for the purposes of their adaptation to technical progress,

Directives 97#24#EC and 2002#24#EC of the European Parliament

and of the Council, relating to the type-approval of two or three-

wheel motor vehicles.

(3) These regulations shall apply from the 1 st July, 2007.
