Waste Management (Landfill) (Amendment) Regulations, 2007

IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 9 and 10(2) of the

Environment Protection Act, the Minister for Rural Affairs and the

Environment has made the following regulations>–

The title of these regulations is the Waste Management

(Landfill) (Amendment) Regulations, 2007, and they shall be read and

construed as one with the Waste Management (Landfill) Regulations,

2002, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.

In regulation 6 of the principal regulations, immediately after

the words “hospital and other clinical waste arising from medical or

veterinary establishments, which are infectious as defined by property

H9 of Schedule 2 of the Waste Management (Permit and Control)

Regulations” there shall be added the words “and waste falling within

category 14 of Annex I.A of Council Directive 91#689#EEC 1 of 12

December 1991 on hazardous waste, as amended by Council Directive

94#31#EC 2 of 27 June 1994”.

In regulation 11 of the principal regulations, immediately after

the words “Without prejudice to the Waste Management (Permit and

Control) Regulations” there shall be added the words “, 2001 and the

Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations, 2002”.
