IMMOVABLE PROPERTY (ACQUISITION BY

NON-RESIDENTS) ACT

(CAP. 246)

SmartCity (Designated Special Area) Order, 2007

IN VIRTUE of the powers conferred by articles 2 and 8 of the

Immovable Property (Acquisition by Non-Residents) Act, the Prime

Minister and Minister of Finance has made the following Order:-

The title of this Order is the SmartCity (Designated Special

Area) Order, 2007.

SmartCity consisting of the immovable property defined as

the Site in the deed of Emphyteutical Grant to be signed between the

Government of Malta and SmartCity (Malta) Limited TECOM

Investments FZ-LLC and the Malta Maritime Authority approved by

the House of Representatives on the 20 th March 2007 is hereby

designated as a Designated Special Area for the purposes of the

Immovable Property (Acquisition by Non-Residents) Act.

SmartCity shall be added to the List of Scheduled Zones in

the First Schedule to the Immovable Property (Acquisition by Non-
