INSURANCE INTERMEDIARIES ACT

(ACT NO. XII OF 2006)

Notice of coming into force

IN exercise of the powers conferred by sub-article (2) of article 1,

sub-article (2) of article 56, sub-article (2) of article 58, sub-article (2)

of article 61, sub-article (2) of article 66, sub-article (2) of article 71,

sub-article (2) of article 75, sub-article (2) of article 122 of the Insurance

Intermediaries Act, 2006, the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance

has established the following commencement dates in respect of the

following Parts and articles of the said Act, other than article 76(b)(xvii)

and sub-article (2)(g) in article 76(c) of Part XV thereof, as follows>–

(a) the 1st September 2006, as the date when Parts X, XII,

XIII and XIV shall come into force<

(b) the 1st October 2006, as the date when Parts I, II, III,

IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, XI and XVI, and the provisions of articles

76(a), 76(b)(i) to (xv), sub-article (2)(a) to (f) and (i) in article

76(c), and of articles 76(d), 77 to 79, 80(a), 81(a)(ii) and (iii), 81(b),

82, 84, 85, 87(a), 90 to 97, 99(b), 100(a), 101, 103 to 113, 114(a),

114(e) to (h) and 115 to 121 of Part XV, and the Schedule at the

end of the Act shall come into force<

(c) the 1st January 2007, as the date when the provisions of

articles 80(b), 80(c) and 102 of Part XV shall come into force< and

(d) the 1st May 2007, as the date when the provisions of

articles 76(b)(xvi), 76(b)(xviii), sub-article (2)(h) in article 76(c),

and of articles 81(a)(i), 83, 86, 87(b), 88, 89, 98, 99(a), 100(b) and

(c), 114(b) to (d) of Part XV shall come into force.
