BUDGET MEASURES IMPLEMENTATION ACT, 2005

(ACT NO. II OF 2005)

Commencement Notice

IN exercise of the powers conferred by the first proviso of subarticle

(2) of article 36 of the Budget Measures Implementation Act, 2005, the

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance has established the 1 st May,

2005, as the date when the provisions in the said proviso of subarticle

(2) of article 36 of the said Act, relative to the words in the Fourth

Schedule of the Excise Duty Act, Cap. 382, under the column

“Description of Excise Goods” for the item “Biodiesel (a mixture of

biomass and gas oil)” as well as for the words under the item

“Exemptions” from “The biomass content” to “municipal waste”, shall

come into force.
