TRUSTS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2004

(ACT NO. XIII OF 2004)

Notice of coming into force

(Parts I, V, VII, IX, X, XI, XII, XV, XVI, XVIII)

and Repeal of the Recognition of Trusts Act

(Part XIV)

IN exercise of the powers conferred by subarticle (2) article 1,

subarticle (2) article 58, subarticle (2) article 62, subarticle (2) article

68, subarticle (2) article 71, subarticle (2) article 78, subarticle (2) article

81, subarticle (2) article 92, subarticle (2) article 94 and subarticle (2)

of article 110 of the Trusts (Amendment) Act, 2004, hereinafter referred

to as ìthe Amending Actî, the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance

has established the following dates>–

(a) the 1st December, 2004 when Parts IX, XI, XII, XV,

XVI and XVIII of the Amending Act shall come into force<

(b) the 1st December, 2004 –

(i) when the provisions of article 29 of the Amending

Act, insofar as only by substitution, relating to the repeal of

the heading “Registration of Trusts” and article 43 and 43A

following it in the Trusts Act, Cap. 331, shall come into force<

and

(ii) when subarticle (2) of article 35 of the Amending

Act shall come into force<

(c) the 1st January, 2005 when all the remaining provisions

of Part I and Parts V, VII and X of the Amending Act shall come

into force< and

(d) the 1st January, 2005 when the Recognition of Trusts

Act, Cap. 374, shall be repealed.
