EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES ACT

(CAP. 343)

Extended Skill Training Scheme (Amendment)

Regulations, 2004

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 37 of the

Employment and Training Services Act, the Minister of Education,

Youth and Employment, after consulting the Employment and Training

Corporation, has made the following regulations>–

(1) These regulations may be cited as the Extended Skill

Training Scheme (Amendment) Regulations, 2004 and they shall be

read and construed as one with the Extended Skill Training Scheme

Regulations 1998, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.

(2) These regulations shall be deemed to have come into

force on the 5th April, 2004.

Immediately at the end of regulation 8 of the principal

Amends regulation

regulations, there shall be added the following proviso>

“Provided that the provisions of this regulation shall be subject

to the provisions of the Young Persons (Employment) Regulations,

2003, in the case of apprentices between 15 and 18 years of age.”.
