IMMOVABLE PROPERTY (ACQUISITION

BY NON-RESIDENTS) ACT

(CAP. 246)

Immovable Property Price Index

BY VIRTUE and for the purposes of article 5(1)(b) of the

Immovable Property (Acquisition By Non-Residents) Act and, in respect

of article 2 of the Immovable Property (Acquisition by Non-Residents)

(Value of Immovables) Order, 1999 published by Legal Notice 98 of

1999, which established the value of immovable property at Lm30,000

in the case of an apartment and Lm50,000 in the case of any other

property, the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance has established

that the value of immovable property mentioned therein shall be adjusted

in line with an immovable property price index that shall be kept by the

National Statistics Office starting at 100.00 percentage points on the

1st April, 2004.
