Urban Waste Water Treatment (Amendment)

Regulations, 2004

BY virtue of the powers conferred by articles 9 and 10 of the

Environment Protection Act, 2001, the Minister for Rural Affairs

and the Environment has made the following regulations>–

The title of these regulations is the Urban Waste Water Citation.

Treatment (Amendment) Regulations, 2004, and they shall be read

and construed as one with the Urban Waste Water Treatment L.N. 340 of 2001.

Regulations, 2001, hereinafter referred to as “the principal

regulations”.

Immediately after the second proviso to sub-regulation (1) Amends regulation

4 of the principal

of regulation 4 of the principal regulations, there shall be added the regulations.

following new third proviso>

“Provided further that the provisions of this sub-regulation

shall apply as follows to –

(i)

Marsa Land and Gozo-Main by the 1st May,

2004<

(ii)

Malta South by the 30th June, 2004<

(iii)

G[arb and Nadur by the 31st December, 2005<

and

(iv)

the rest of Malta by the 31st October, 2006.”.

Immediately after subparagraph (c) to sub-regulation (1) Amends

5 of the principal

of regulation 5 of the principal regulations, there shall be added the regulations.

following new proviso>

“Provided that the provisions of this sub-regulation shall

apply as follows to –

B

(i)

Marsa Land by the 1st May, 2004<

(ii)

Gozo-Main by the 31st October, 2004<

(iii)

G[arb and Nadur by the 31st December, 2005<

(iv)

Malta North by the 31st October, 2006< and

(v)

the rest of Malta by the 31st March, 2007.”.
