Notice about Expiry Date of Certain Identity Cards

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 13 of the Identity

Cards Act, and for the purposes of the proviso to paragraph (1) of

regulation 3 of the Identity Cards (Issue and Validity) Regulations,

1996, the Prime Minister has established the 1st April, 2004 as the

date on which all paper based plastic encapsulated identity cards

issued in terms of the Identity Card Act before the 1st April, 2002

shall cease to be valid.
