(ACT NO. V OF 2003)

The European Economic Area Enlargement Treaty Order,

IN exercise of the powers conferred by sub-article (2) of article

2 of the European Union Act, 2003, the Prime Minister has made

the following Order>–

The title of this Order is the European Economic Area

Enlargement Treaty Order, 2004.

In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires -

Malta Government Gazette — Legal Notice 2004 108 — The European Economic Area Enlargement Treaty Order,

“the Act” means the European Union Act, 2003<

“the Specified Treaty” means The European Economic

Area Enlargement Treaty signed by the Member States of the

European Union, Malta and the other states that would be

acceding to the European Union on the 1 May 2004 in

Luxembourg on the 14th October 2003 and signed by Iceland,

Leichtenstein and Norway in Leichtenstein on the 11th

November 2003<

“the Treaty” has the same meaning as is given to the

expression in sub-article (1) of article 2 of the Act.

For the purpose of sub-article (2) of article 2 of the Act, it

is hereby declared that the specified Treaty shall be regarded as one

with the Treaty.
