Merchant Shipping (Training and Certification) (Amendment)

Regulations, 2004

IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 91 and 374 of

the Merchant Shipping Act, the Minister for Transport and

Communications has made the following regulations>–

The title of these regulations is the Merchant Shipping Citation.

(Training and Certification) (Amendment) Regulations, 2004, and

shall be read and construed as one with the Merchant Shipping

(Training and Certification) Regulations, 2001, hereinafter referred L.N. 197 of 2001.

In regulation 2 of the principal regulations for the definition Amends regulation

2 of the principal

“near coastal voyages” there shall be substituted the following>

regulations.

“ “near coastal voyages” means a voyage during which a

vessel is within a distance not farther than 200 nautical miles

from the point of departure<”.
