NATIONAL INTEREST (ENABLING POWERS) ACT

Ratification of Chemical Weapons Convention Act,

Cap. 392 (Amendment of Convention) Regulations, 2000

IN ex.ercise of the powers conferred by subarticle (2) of article 3

of the National Interest (Enabling Powers) Act, Cap. 365, the Prime

Minister has made the following regulations:-

(1) The title of these regulations is the Ratification of

Citation and coming

Chemical Weapons Convention Act, Cap. 392 (Amendment of

Convention) Regulations, 2000.

(2) These regulations shall be read and construed as one

with the Schedule to the Chemical Weapons Convention Act, Cap. 392,

containing the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development,

Production, Stocktaking and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their

Destruction, hereinafter in these regulations referred to as "the

Convention".

(3) Regulation 2 shall be deemed to have come into force

on the 29th April, 2000.

In Part VII of the Annex. on Implementation and Verification

to the Convention, known as the "Verification Annex", in Section C

thereof:-

(a) the date of coming into force of the provisions of

paragraph 31 thereof is the 29th April, 2000; and

(b)

the provisions of paragraph 32 thereof no longer have

effect.
