Marine Mammals (Protection)

(Amendment) Regulations, 2000

IN virtue of powers vested in him by articles 6, 32 and 33 of the

Environment Protection Act, the Minister for the Environment, has

made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Marine Mammals Citation.

(Protection) (Amendment) Regulations, 2000, and shall be read and

construed as one with the Marine Mammals (Protection) Regulations, LN. 77 of 1992.

1992, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".

In regulations 2 of the principal regulations, immediately Amends.re~lation 2

after the definition of "Act" there shall be inserted the following new :;a~=.lapal

definition:-

" "biological identity" means the variability among living

organisms from all sources including, among others, terrestrial,

marine and other aquatic ecosystems, and the ecological

complexes of which they are part; this includes diversity within

species, between species and of ecosystems;" .
