Ports (Amendment) Regulations, 1998

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Malta

Maritime Authority Act, 1991, the Minister for Transport and Ports, in

consultation with the Malta Maritime Authority, has made the followmg

regulations:-

These regulations may be cited as the Ports (Amendment)

Regulations, 1998, and shall be read and construed as one with the

Ports Regulations, 1966, hereinafter referred to as "the principal

regulations" .

Immediately at the end of paragraph (1) of regulation 76 of

the principal regulations there shall be inserted the following proviso

"Provided that where the Minister deems it expedient he may,

with the concurrence of the Minister responsible for finance, direct

in writing that the Director and the contractor may deliver goods

to the consignee without the necessary authority from the

Comptroller of Customs.".
