Admission (Amendment) Regulations, l99g

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 30 (5)

and 3l (6) of the Education Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the

University of Malta has promulgated the following regulations made by

the Senate of the University of Malta by virtue of the powers conferred

upon it by sections 3l and 35 of the said Acr

These Regulations may be cited as the Admission (Amendme nr)

Regulations, 1998 of the University of Malta and shall be read and constrrred as

one with the Admission Regulations, 1997, hereinafter referred to as "the

principal regulations".

Applicability

These regulations shall be applicable to courses starting in October

1999 or later.

For paragraph 1 of regulation 6 of the principal regularions there

shall be substituted the following

"6.1 General Entry Reguirements (see regulation 2.1). Subject to any other

provision of these regulations, the General Entry Requiremenls are the

following

(a) the Matriculation Certificate; and

(b) passes in the Secondary Education Certificate at Grade 5 or better in

Maltese, English Language and Mathematics,

providecl that if a pass in Maltese, and/or English, and / or Mathematics is

obtainecl within the Matriculation Certificate, either at Advanced or at

Intermediate Level, a pass in the Secondary Education Ce rtificate

Examination is not required."
