IN exercise: of the powers conferred by section I of the Customs

an d E ~ cisc Ta~ Act, 1997. the Minister of Finance and Commercc: has

appoin ted the I st Ju ly. 1997 as the date on wh ich a ll the provisions of

the said Act shall come into force. other than section 3 and su\)se(:T ion

(1 4) of section 78 of the said ACT which shall come in to force on the

17th June . 1997.
