IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 30(5)

and 31(6) of the Educalion Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the

Uniycrsirvof Malta has promulgated th e following regulat ions made

upon it by sections 31 and 3S of the said Act

Citlltion

These regulations may be cited as the Bachelor of Arts in Religious SlUdies-

B.A. (Re!. Slud.) - Degree (Amendmen t) Regulations, 1997 and shall be read and

constmed as one with the Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies - S A . (Rei. Stud .)-

Degree Regulations 1988, hereinafter referred to as "'the principal regulations".

These: regulations shall be applicable to courses starting in October' l991 or

later.

Amendment of regulation 3 of the principal regulatio ns

For paragraphs 3 .1 and 3.2 of regulation 3 o f the principal regulations there

shall be substituted the fo!lowing

"3.1 The Final Result shall take into account the performance in the Final

examinations (30%), the Long Essay (iO~) and the grades obtained during the

COUr5C (60%).

3.2 In the Final Result the names of the candidates who qualify for the

Degree shall be published in alphabetical order according 10 the following

categories I . IIA, lIB , III and Pass."

Amendmt"ntof regulation 4 of the principal regula ti ons

4, For paragraph 4. [ of regulati on 4 of the prinCipal regu lations there shall be

substimted the following

"4.1 In the oonlc)!.:1 of these regulations

" Institute" means the Institute of Religious Studies established within

the Faculty ofTheo1ogy: " Board" means the Board of the Institute; " Di rector"

means the Di recto r of the Ins titute; "Administration" means the

Administration of the Institute: provided thaI until the Sialute oflhe Insti tute

ofRcligious Studies is promulgated, the prerogatives belonging 10 the Board

of the Institute Sh1111 be exercised by the Faculty Board of Theology and the

responsibilities belonging to the Director of the Institute shall be exerci sed

by the Dean of the F3culty of Theology."
