Diploma in La bo ur Stud ies (Anwndment) Regulations. 1997

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon hi m by sections 30(5)

and 31(6) of the EducatiOIl Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the

Uniyersity o f Malta has promulgated the following regulations made

by the' St'Ilatt' of the University of Malta by virtue oflhe powersconferrcd

upon it by sec tions 3 J and 35 of th e said Act

Citation

L These regulations may be cited as the Diploma in Labour S tudies

(Amelidment) Regulations. 1997 and shall be read and construed as one with the

Diploma in Labour Studies Reg ulations 1990. here inafter referred to as "the principal

rl'guiallons",

These regulations shall be applicable: to courses starting in October 1994 or

laler.

Amt'udml"ut of reg ulation 2.0 of the pr incipal regula tions

For paragraph 2.5 of re1;u!ation 2.0 of the principal re gulations there shall be

"2.5 (i) The Course shall include

a Basic programme: (Level l) wilh study uni ts in

Economics

Sociology

Psychology

Political Science

"Core programme (Level 2) with stud y units in the theory

and practice of industrial relat ions: an d

(c) a programme of optional study un its (Level 3) in policy issues

and skills.

4 . For paragraph 2 .9 of regulation 2.0 oflhe principal regulations there shall be

su bstitu ted the following

''2.9 The study-units shall be arranged so that II course of studies can be

completed within a minimum period of two semesters and a maximum of four

semesters of full-time studies or thei r equivalent in part-time study ,"
