Civil Code (Amendlllellt of Part I of Schedul e) Regulations, 1997

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 268 of the Civil

Code,the Minister of Justice and Local Councils. with the conc urrence

of the Mini stcr of Finance and Commerce, has made the fo ll ow ing

regulat ions:-

( I ) These regulation s may he ci ted as the Ci vil Code CItaIicm_

(Amendment ofPa." I of Schedule) Reg ulations. 1997 and shall be read ....... g."" .......

and construed as one with the Civil Code. hereinafter refelTC{! to as "the

Code".

(2) These regulation s shaH come in to force on the 1st

January, 1998.

For Pan J of the Schedule to the Code there shall be substituted

the following:-

Note: For the payment of the fees re spectively established at

paragraphs 1 and 2. the parents of the child, in the case o f a birth . and

the spouses, in the case of a marriage, are liable in solidum.

For the registration as provided in subsecti on (3 ) of section

290. of the leg itimation of any person whose act of birth is not registered
