Local Councils (SIrf!et Naming) (A mendment) Regulations, 1997

IN exercise of the powers conferred by paragrapn (0 of subsection

( 1) of section 33 and by section 72 of the Local Councils Act. 1993, the

Minister of Justice and Local Councils , has made the [o llowi ng

regulations:-

I . 1bese regulations may be cited as the Local Councils (Smet

Naming) (Amendment) Reg ulations, 1997 , and shall be read and

construed as one with the Local Councils (Street Naming) Regulations,

1995, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulat ions".

2 . For paragraph (2) of regulation 4 of the principal regu lations,

there shall be su bstituted the follow ing:-

"(2) llle namin g or renaming of streets, roads and any Olher

specified area after persons may onl y take place afl er thei r

decease ....
