Technician Apprentictship Scheme

(Ame ndment) Regulutl ons, 1997

IN exercise of the powers conferred by sections 37 and S6 of

the Employment and Training Services Act, the Ministe r for Social

Welfare, after consulting the Employment and Training Corporation.

has made the following regulations: -

These regu lations may be cited as the Tec hnician

Appremiceship Scheme (Amendmen t) Regu lations, 1997 and shall

be read and construed as onc wi th the Technician Appren ticeship

Scheme. 1990. hereinafter referred to as "the Scheme".

Paragraph 14 o f th e Scheme shall be renumbered as

paragraph 15 thereof and immediately afler paragraph 13 thereof

there shall be added the following new paragraph:-

An apprentice shall be entitled to one year injury

leave on rull pay less any amount of Injury Benefit to which

the apprentice may be entilled in te rms of the Social

Security Act. if he is injured du ring the actual discharge

or his duties al a work place and the injury is not due to

any contributory negligence by the apprentice concerned

o r to any contravention on the pan or such appren tice of

any sarety rules laid down by the employer. ...
