IN exercise of the powers conferred by the Local and other Loans

Act. 1997 and by section 4( I)(a) of the Local Loans (Registered Stock

and Securities) Ordinance, Cap. 161, the Min ister of Finance and

Commerce has authorised that due to ovcrsubscrip(ion in Lm5.ooo.ooo

6 .65% Malta Governme nt Stock 2(X)() (Vl) created by means of Legal

Notice No. 144 of 1997 published on the 26th September, 1997 . an

add itional Lm 12.500,000 6.65% Malta Government Stock 2000 (VI)

having the same conditions shall be created thus bringing the total

amou nt of lhis Stock 10 Lm 17 .500.000. In tenns of paragrap h 5 of the

same Legal Notice the half yearly contribution to the Sinking Fund

shall be raised from Lm50.ooo to Lm 175 .000. All applications received

by the c10sillg date 18th October, 1997 will therefore be accepted.
