Ooor-to-Door Salesmen (LIcences) RegulaUons, 1996

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section IS of the Ooor·IO-

Door Salesmen Act, the Minister for Economic: Services has made the

following regulations

These regulations may becited as the Door-to-Door Salesmen

(Licences) Regulations , 1996.

In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires -

"Act" means the Door-to-Door Salesmen Act;

"Department" means the Depanmenl of Consumer Affairs;

"Director" means the Director of Consumer Affairs.

An application for the issue of a licence 10 act as a door-to-

door salesman shall be made to the Director on a form which shall be

obtained from the Director, and shall conta in a ll the particulars stated

in the said form, and be accompanied by all the documents indicated on

the form .

There shall be charged by the Director, for the issue or renewal

of a licence to act as a door-ta-door salesman, a fee o f Lm20.

S. The licence to act as a door- to-door salesman shall be in the

form as set out in the First Schedule to these regulations.

( I) A door-Io-door salesman duly licensed in accordance

wi th the Door-to-Door Salesmen Act, shall al all times during which he

is making use of such licence cany with him an idemity card which

shall be issued by the Director.

(2) The identity card referred to in paragraph (I) of th is

regulation shall be in the form as set out in lhe Second Schedule 10

these regulations and shall be shown by the salesman to the consumer.

Where after an issue or renewal of a licence to act as a Chan,. of

door-t<rdoor salesman, there occurs a change in the particulars as set penicul.J

out in the relative application form, the holder of the licence shall

forthwith notify the Director of the change in particulars.

(2) The Director may, where applicable , require the holder

of the licence to surrender his licence and identity card, and shall note

the change of particulars in the licence and identity card of the licensee,

and return the same to the licensee.

The Door-to-Door Salesmen (Licence Fees) Regulations, 1987. ~"'*"

and the Door-to-Door Salesmen (Licences) Regulations, 1987, are ~ . llollonJ
