Days and Working n ours for the Opening and C losing

of the Registries of the Courts Regulations, 1996

IN exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (2) of section

109 of the Code of Organi7'8tion and Civil Procedure, the Minister of

1ustice and the Arts has made the following reglllalions:-

(I) These regulations may becited as the Daysand Working

Hours for the Opening and Closing of the Registries of tile Courts

Regulations. 1996.

(2) 1bese regulations shall be deemed to have come into

force on 1st October. 1995.

Without prejudice to the provisions of regulation 3 of these

regulations, the Registry of the Superior Courts and the Registries of

the Inferior Courts shall be opeD (Of the filing ofjudiciaJ acts during the

following days and during the following working hours

Between I SI October and 15th June or every year

From 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 pm.

Between 16th June and 30th September of every year

From 8.00 a.m. to 12 noon .

Subject to the proviso or subsection (2) of section 109 of the

Code of Organization and Civil Procedure, the Registry of me Superior

Couns and the Regislries orthe Inferior Coons shall be closed for the

filing of judicial acts on Saturdays. on public holidays as provided in

(he National Holidays andolherPublic Holidays Act .and on Wednesday

and Thursday of Holy Week.

The Days and Working Hours forthe Opcningofthe Registries

of the Couns Regulations, 1995 are hereby repealed.
