(THIRD ISSUE)

IN exercise of the powersconfell"td by the Loca.I Loan Act, 1996

and by sections 4( I Xa), 3 1 (a)(b) and 32 of the Lcxal Loans (Registered

Stock and Securities) Ordinance. Cap. 161, the Mi nister of Finance

has authorised that the sum ofLm?,500,ooo 63% Malta Government

Stock be cre ated and issued as follows;-

I. The Stock shall be issued at the price ofLm 100 per cent and _

shall be allotted by application in multiples of Lm 100. Applications Sooxl .

for the allotment of Stock shall open on Monday, 15th Apri l. 1996 at

8.30a.m . and shall close at 12.00 noon on Saturday, 27th Apri l. 1996,

or earlier at the discretion of the Accountan t General.

2 . All persons andlor entities are eligible to apply. Allotment ..,1-.. ~iqo .

will be on a fir:st~ applied first-accepted basis with preference being

given to non-banking applicants.

3 . An application for the Stock to be put on the official list and TfadinlOll .... MoI ..

trading on the Malta Stock Exc hange will be made in leons of the ~,k~"i<'

Mal ta Stoc k Exchange Act. when the Stock has been allotted.

standing to the credit of the Sinking Funds of the Stocks declared as .oS;nI;iO\j; F""",

being redeemed in the twelve Treasury Notices published in the

Government Gazette of 4th April , 1996 will be transferred 10 the

Sinking Fund 6.3% Malta Government Stock 1999 (HI) established

for the purpose of redeeming the Stock . A fu rt her half-yea rly

appropriation of not less than Lrn75.ooo out of the General Revenue

and Assets of the Government of Malta shall be made as a contribution

to this same Sinking Fund. The first contribution shall be made du ring

the first six months of the year 1997 .

6 . Interest at the rate of Lm3 .1S (or every Lm lOO Stock shall be

payable in arrear half-yearly on the 1st February and the 1st of August

of every yearduring thecurrency oftheStock. 1be first pro rata payment

covering the period from the 28th April . 1996 10 the 1st August,l996

shall be made on the 1st day of August. 1996.

7 . The Stock shall be redeemed at par on the 1st August , 1999 .
