Pan B
Pan C

The Mutual Safdy Exa mination
A tanker presen ting itself to a loading or disch arging terminal needs to check its

Equally the terminal needs tocheck its own preparations and to be: assured that the
tanker has carried out its checks and has made appropriate arrangemen ts.
The Chec k List, by its questions and its re qu irements for exchange of written
agreeme nts for certain procedures. is a mini mum basis for the essential conside rations
which should be included in such a mutual examination.
Some of the Check Lis(s questi ons are directed to co nsideration for whic h the
tanker has prime responsi bility. Others apply to both tanker and terminal and the
remainder to the te rmin al alone. It is not suggested that every item should be: the
subject of personal checkin g by both representatives conducting the examina tion.
All items lying ""ithin the responsibility of the tanker shall be personally checked

Thus all applicable questions should result in an affi rm ative mark in the boxes
provided. If a difference of opinion arises on the ad equacy of any arrangements made
or conditions found. the operation shall not be: starte d until measu res tak en are jointl y
acce pted.
A negative answer to the quest ions coded " p " does not necessarily mean that th e
