Overseas Telepbone Service (Amendment)
Regulations, 1996
IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Telemalta
Corporation Ac t. the Board. wi th the approvaJ of the Minister for
Transpon, Communications and Technology and with the concurrence
of the Minister of Finance. has made the following regulations:-
( t ) These regulations may be cited as the Overseas
Telephone Service (Amendment) Regulations 1996. and shaJl be read
and construed as one with the Overseas Telephone Service Regulations
1951, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regu lations".
(2) These regulations shall be deemed to have come into
force on the 1st October. 1995.
For the Fourth Schedule 10the pri ncipal regulations there shall
be substituted the following
"FOURTH SCHEDULE
Tariff of Charges fo r Automatic (ISD) Overseas Telephone Calls
OfT Peak rates shall be applicable in respect of calls effected
towards a Country indicated hereunder from Mondays to Saturdays
between 9.00 p.m. and 8.00 a.m . of the following day. and caJls
effected on Sunday all day.
Standard rates shall be applicable in respect of calls effected
towards a Country indicated hereunder at all <>cher times outside
the Off Peak hours specified above.
The following rales shall be applied pro ratQ for each
completed second

Oft Peak rates shall be applicable in respect of calls effected
towards an Ocean Region indicated hereunder from Mondays to
Saturdays between 9.00 p.m . and 8.00 a.m. of the following day, and
calls effected on Sunday all day.
Standard rates shall be applicable in respect of call s effected
towards an Ocean Region indicated hereunder at all other times outside
the Off Peak hours specified above.

For the purposes of the Value Added Tax Act, 1994 , the
charges specified in th ese regulations shall be deemed 10 be inclusive
of value added lax payable under the said Act.
