Telephone Sen'lte (Ame ndment) (No. 3) Regulations, 1995

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Te le-

malta Corporati on Act, the Board, with the approval of the Ministe r

for Transport, Communications and Technology and with the concur·

rence of the Minister of Finance, has made the following regulations:-

These regulations may be ci ted as the Telephone Service

(Amendme nt) (No. 3) Regulations, 1995, and shall be read and con·

strued as one with the Telephone Service Regulations, 1972, herein-

after referred to as "the principal regulations".

Regulation 2 of the principal regulations shall be amended

as foll ows

(a) for the definition or "leased line·' there shall be substi-

tu ted the followi ng new definition

" " leased line" means a telecommunications facility

providing for transparent transmission capacity between

network tennination points, which facility does not include

switching functions which the use r can control (on-demand

s witc hing) as part o f the leased line provision; ~; and

(b) immediately after the de fin ition of"telecare unit" there

shal l be inserted the follow ing new defini tion

""Ielefnx .. means a system of telephony whereby fac-

simile pages of doc uments may be transmitted directly

between the sender and the recipient;" .

"Provided furtner that the above rates shall also be ap-
