IN exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (3) of section 41

of the Education A CI, the Min isle r ofEducatio n and Human Resoul"QCS ,

with the concurrence Oflhc Minister ofFinanee, has made tbe following

regu1atio ns:-

I. These regulations may be d ted as the Universi ly Sludenu

(Revised Ratesof Stipends) (Amendment) Regulations, 1995. and shall

be read and construed as one with the Universi lY StudenU (Revised

Ra tes of Stipends) Regulations, 1994 , he rei nafter referred to as Mthc

prindpal regulations M.

For the second proviso to regulation 2 of the principal

regulations, th ere shall be substituted the following: -

"Provided funhe r that in the cue of paragraph (e) above , a

stude nt may be allowed to receive other remuneration if it is

declared in writing by the Unive rsity Authorities that the work.

and that when such pennission is granted, in the cue that the

remuneration for th at work e xceeds the sum of the stipends, an

amo unt equivlllentto the difference between the remuneration for

the work and the amount paid asstipendshall be deduCled from the

stipend. Moreover , if a student who is perfonning any other

re mune rated work fai ls to make s uch declaration and/or fails to

decla re the correct amount of remuneratio n received, such student

shall fo rfei t the right of receiving such stipend during that academic

year.M.
