IN exercise of the powers conferred by subsectio n (9) o f section 8 o f

the Banking Act , 1994, the Minister of Finance, after consullation with

the Competen t Authority, has made the following regulations: -

I. These regulations may be cited as the Representative Offices

(Fees) Regulations, 1995, and shall come into force on 4th April, 1995.

In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires-

~ Act" means the Banking Act , 1994;

~Compete nl Authority" means the body appointed under sub-

section (2) of section 3 of the Act;

"representative office" me ans an office established in Malta by

a no n-Maltese bank in terms of section 8 of the Act.

The re shall be paid 10 the Competent Autho rity by any com-

pan y incorporated outside Malta which is authorised to establis h a rep-

resen tative office in Malta an annual fee of LmSOO on the date of such

a uthorisatio n a nd thereafter annually. upon the annive rsary of such

dale.
