Telephone Service (Ame ndment) (No. 6) Regul atio ns, 1995

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Telemalta

Corporation Act. the Board, with th e approval of the Minister for

Transpon. Communications and Tcchnology and with the concum:ncc

of the Minister of Finance. has made the following regulations:-

These regulations may becited as the Tc lephoneService

(I)

(Amendment) (No.6) Regulations 1995,and shall be read and construed

as one with the Tele phone Service Regulations 1972. hereinafter

referred to as ·'the principal regulations",

These regulations shall be deemed to have come into

fo.-ce on the ist December. 1995.

Immediately after regulation 52 of the principal regulations

there shall be insened the following new regu]8tion:-

52A. Noth ing contained in these regulations and

nodli ng spedfied in any of the Schedules hereto o r in any

other regulations published under the Te lemalta Corporation

Act s hall prevent the Chairman, upon obtaining the approval

of the Minister responsible for telecommunications, from

int roduci ng from time to time and under such term s and

conditions as he may consider appropriate , any special

incentive sc hemes, inc luding any discount sche mes

incentivati ng increased use of the teleph one service or

encouraging early senlement of the relative bills, or any OIher

special schemes foe any reason which the Chairm an may

deem opportune and, in a like manne r, nothing shall prevent

him from withdrawing any such scheme or amending any

of the terms and cond itions thereof at any time this may be

considered necessary or expedient.".
