Corporation Act, the Board . with the approval of the Minister for

Transport , Com mun ications and T echnology a nd with the concurrence

of the Min ister of Finance , has made the following regulalions: -

I , ( I) These regulat ions may be cited as the Telephone Servke

(Ame ndment) Regulations, 1995, and shall be read and oonstrued as

o ne with the Telephone Sel"licc Regulati ons, 1m2, he reinafte r referred

force on the 16th September, 1994 .

Regulation 2 of the principal regulations shall be amended as

fol1ows : ~

shall be inserted the following new definit ions

incoming calls o n a busy exchan ge line 10 be transferred 10

another excha nge line;

"Call Transfe r On No Re pl y" means Ihe faci lity whe reby

inooming ca lls o n a n exchange line rece ivin g no reply afte r a

de te rmin ed number of seconds arc trans fe rred to another

exchange line ; ~ ;

(d) for the definition of McalI waiting" there shall be

" ··Hot Line" means the facility enabli ng the aut o matic

establishme nt of a connection with a pre-determined stored

telephone numbe r if no digits are dialled/pressed within a few

seconds following lifting of the handset ;";

(j) immediately afte r the definitio n of "Iow speed Nn r

there shall be inse rted the followi ng new definition

"··mobile number" means a number dedicated 10 a

person su bscribed 10 lhe cellular mobile system;";

(Jr.) immediately afte r the definition of "private ffillJlual

branch exchange" there 5hall be inserted the follOwing new

definition

Immediately after paragraph (2) of regulation 47 of the

princi pal regulations there shall be inse n ed the following new

paragraph

-(3) For each call directed towards the public switched

telephone network and transferred from one exchange li ne to

another exchange li ne or a mobile num be r following activation of

the Aut oma tic Call Transfer facility:-

(a) in ease of calls transferred to anothe r exchange line

on the public switched telephone network , the calling person!

subscribe r-Cor the called subscriber in case of incoming collect

calls from overseas) shall be charged for th e call by th e

appropriate local or overseas te lephone administration in

aocorda nce with the nonna l applicable tariff;

(b) in case of calls transferred to a mobile num ber on the

cellular mobile system: -

(i) the calling personlsubseriber (or the called

subscri be r in ease of incoming collcct calls fro m overseas)

shall be charged for th e call by the appropriate local or

overseas telephone administration in accordance with the

nonnat applicable tariff. and

(ii) the called subscriber whose exchange li ne on

the public switched telephone network activated the call

transfe r towards the (:e lluJar mobile s)'Ste m shalt also be

charged for the call in w-ofdaoce wit h the rate specified

in the Fourth Schedule to these regula tio ns in respect of

calls directed towards the cellular mobile system.
