and $eCtion 61 of the Value Added Tu Act , 1994, hercinafler referred

to as ~the Aet~ , the Minister of Finance hat made the following

regulatiotu:-

Terms used in these regulations shall, unless the context

made by that peT$Oll during that year as resulting from the accounts kept

by him .

(3) Where a person did not carry on an economic IICtivity

during any part of the basis year, the turnover of that person lhall be the

value of supplies to which subsection (I) of JeCtion 15 m the Act refers

(2) Th~ four consecutjv~ tu periods ref~TJed to in paragraph

( I ) of thi5 regulation shan be (ourconsec\lIive tax periods commencing

witb the tu period immediately following th.t during wllich an

application for the purJIOIeS 01 this regulation is nade .

(3) An application fOT th~ purpose~ oftbi~ regu lation shall be

made on the four prescribed in the Second Schedule to thCK regulations

and shall contain all the information required by the said form.

(4) 'The ootice referred to in paragraph (1) 01 this regulation

shaD be 5e",ed on the applicant .

The Commissioner may, in the cases specified in this

paragraph , r~V(lke I notice given in temu of regulation 5 or 6 of these

regulations by means of a further notice, and as from the date specified

in the said further notice the tax period of that person shall be a period of

three months.

(2) A revocation referred to in pilragraph ( I) of this

regulation may be made

(.) where. at any time. the Commissioner has reason to

believe that there was or there is li kely to be a material change in

the circums'-nces on the basis of which an appl ication has been

allowed ;

(b) wbere it resulU to the Commissioner that any

information gi~n by a person wbicll is releYlll1 t to the

determination of his lIImOYer was illCOl reet ;

(c) at the req uest of the taxable person towbom a notice was

Krved in a«ordance with the proYisions of te8ulation .5 or 6 of

these rel uJations.
