IN exercise of Ihe powers confe rred by section 4( 1)(1) of the Loeal

Loans (Regislered Slock and SeC\lrities) O rdinance , Cap. 161, lhe

Ministe r of Finance has declared the Lm2,OOO.OOO 6.25% Local

De~lopment Registered Slock 1993-1994 which is due for repayme nt

belween 1st January, 1993. and 31st December. 1994, co be oonvenible

inlo registered stock and 10 be issued under Ihe provisions of Ihe

Ordinance.

The Minister has also aUlhomw in terms of scctions 31 (b) and 32

of the same Ordinance that, for the conversion of the Lm2.000,OOO

6.2'i% Loeal Development Registered Stock 1993-1994 • new 6.5%

Malta Go~mment (Conversion) Stock 2001 be created and issued as

I. (a) The stoc k shall be issued at the price of Lm l oo per cent

and sha ll be allotted by application in multi pin of Lm loo. Applications

for the allotment of stock by lhe presenl holders of Ihe 6.25% Local

De~lopment Registered Slock 1993-1994 shall open al 8.00 a.m. on

Monday, 2OthJune. 1994and clo$e al 12.000000 00 Saturday, 2nd July ,

(b) Applications from lhe general publi c for any rem ai ning

bala nce oflhe 6.S% Malla GovernmentStock (Conversion) 2001 will be

rece ived al t he Treasury between 8.00 a.m. on Monda~ the 4th July ,

1994 aRd 12 noon on Friday Ihe 15th July. 1994 or earlier at Ihe

discretion of the Aocountant General.

A n application for the Stock 10 be put on the orficialli5t and

trading On the Malta Slock E xchange will be made in termsoflhe Malta

Stock Exchange Act , when such Slock has been fully subscribed.

3.' The sum of money 10 be raised by the stock shall be

On conversion date, the balance of Lm2,OOO,OOO standing to ~.-

Ihe credit of Sinking Fund 6.2'i% Local Developmenl Registered Stock , .".,"",,-

1993- 1994 will be transferred to Sinking Fund 6.5% Malla Government

Stock (Conversion) 2001.

Interest shan be pa~lble in arrear half-yearly on the 15th of

July and the 15th of January in every year during the currency of the

slock. The firsl payment of Lm3.25c per LmIOO stock covering the

period from the 15th July, 1994 10 the 14th January , 1995, sh.ul be made

on tile 15th day of January. I99S.

The Slock shall be redeemed at par on 15tb January. 2((11 .
