Detention of. Ptnoo (Savio~) RquIations. 1994

IN exercise of the poweB oonfc lTcd by subsection (2) o f section 34

of the Immigration Act, the Minister of Justice has made the following

regulations

I . 1bese regulations may be cited as the Detenti on of a PeMn

(Savio College) Regulations. 1994.

These regulationJ shall apply to the detention of a person at

Savio College as provided in Legal Notice 20 o f the 16th February . 1994.

The regulations applicable 10 persons detained in prison and

therein detained as persons awaiting tri al shall, as regards the deten tion

of persons, the diet and the discipline of these persons, apply to the

person detained unde r these regulatiom, privided tbat every refe rence

in those regulations 10 a person d etained as a person awaiting tria l s hall

be deemed 10 be a reference 10 the penon detained under these

regul ations, and every reference in those regulations to the prison

autho rities shall be dee med to be a reference to the rector and the

authorities of Savio College.

Any person who acts in conmve ntion of any regul atio n made

applicable under regulation 3 shall be guilty of an offence against these

regul ations and shall, on conviction, be liable to the punishments

establi shed for contraventions.
