Telephone Service (Amtnd~DI) Regulations, 1994
IN exercise of the powers conferTed by section 37 of the Telemalta
Corporation Act , the Board , wit h the approval of the Mi nister for
Transport and Commun ications and with the concurrence of the
Minister of Finance, has made the following regulatio ns:-
( I) These reguJatioll5 ma y be cited as the Telephone Service
(Amendmen t) Regulations. 1994, and shall be rcad and construed as
one with the Telephone Service Regul ations, 1972, hereinafter referred
to as "the princi pal regulations" ,
(2) These regulations shall be deemed 10 have tOme inlO
force on the 1st October , 1993.
Immediately after th e definition or " mode m ~ in regulation 20f
the princi pal regulat ions, there shall be inserted the following new
definit ion
""National Freephone Service" means the service which
enables a subscriber thereto to be charged for ealls received on a
spedaltelephone number via the local Public Switched Telepbone
Network in lieu of the person making the eall;".
Immediately afte r paragraph (4) of regulation 47A of the
principal regulations there shall be inserted the following new
paragraph
The charges applicable in respect of the National

Freephone Service shall be those specified in the Eleventh
Schedule to these regulations. ".
For the Seventh Schedul e to the principal regulations there
shall be substituted the following

Pro vided th at the minimum rental charge·
able under paragraphs (a) and (b) above in respect
of a temporary installation shall be Lm24 , re lati ve to a
miminum duration period of two months.

3. Network Usage Charges
The charges for calls shall be lhose laid down
in respect of exchange li nes charged the business
rate of rental as specified in paragraph) of the
Fourth Schedule 10 these rc:gulal)ons, and mall
be ~ayable by the subscribe r to the freephonc
