IN exCTcise of the powenronferred by section 31 of the Tclemalta

Corporation Act. the Board, wilh the appro~BI of the Minister for

Transpon. Communications and Technology and with the roncurrence

of the Minister of Fmancc. has made the foDowi ng reguLations: -

(1) 'J'ttQe regul.tions may be cited as the Telephone Service

(Amendment) (No . 3) Regul .. ions , 1W4, . nd shall be read and

ronstrucd u one with the Telephone Scrviee Regulations, 1912,

hereinaher referred to as Ml he principal regulations".

(2) These regulations shall be deemed to have rome into

force on the 25th May . 1994.

1. Regulation 2 of tbe principal regulations shall be amendell as

follows : -

(a) immediately afte r the definition of ~Chai rm Bn .

For regulation 35 of Ihe principal regulations there shaD be

$Ubsl;luted the following

)5 , (I) A subscriber may be provided with a coin-box

on an ucbange line or on an u tension under the followina

conditions, namely

(a) he sball be responsible for the payment of all

cbarges for rentals , calls and other services;

(b) he shall be billed for Q.lls according w the

number regi~tered on bis meter at tbe uthange ;

(c) the money in th e ooin-box shall be retained by

the SUbs<:riber ;

(d) in respect of each caU the subscriber $han be

allowed a rebate as specified in the Fourth Schedule to

these regulations,

(2) A sub5cribcr may be allowed to provide and

install a coin-box for indoor use at his own care and expense

on an uchange line or on an utension under the conditions

specirocd in subparagraphs (a), (b) and (c) of paragraph ( I) of

this regulation, and under the following additional

conditions

(I) the coin-box equipment shall have been

previously tested and approved by the Cbairman for

connection to the public telephone s)'Stem in accordance

with any general and specirlC conditions for the

installation of private equipme nt laid down in these

regulations and/or further established by the Cbairman;

(b) the subscriber may. under 1115 own

responsibility. require pe~nl making use of his

installalion to inse rt in Ihe coin-box an amount equal 10

or exceeding Ille normal tariff cbarged by the Qaairman

under these regulations and Ihe OvelKls Telephone

Service Regul ations. 1957;

(cl the sub5criber shall ensure that the coin-box

equipment allows access w all special free services

offered by the Cbairm an (with the exception of aeee" to

the o~erseas operator service (\94) which may be barred

at the oplion of the subscriber) and to all available

freepbone service facili ties, at no charge whatsoeve r \0

(d) tbe subscriber shall at all limes k~p in

For reguLation 42 of the principal regulations there shan be

substituted the following

For regulation 47 of the principal regulations there shall be

lubstituled the following

47. (I) For each eaU made by onc person to another

Fifth Schedules to the Oveneas Telephone SeI"Vke

Regu lations, 1957.

(2) Where the cxmlnge line il provided with I

coin or coins in payment of eam call; where the exclJange line

is provided with a cardphone. 11#1'$ of such line shall insen in
