(2) No person $hall sell by anymcthod, imponorupon any

specimens of species listed in Schedu le 110 th ese regulations unless he

has an official pennit from the Director fOT thei r artificial propagation .

(l) No penon shall punuc, lake or allcmpt to lake, ki\l or

auempt to kill .~, sell by any method, buy, exchange. import or

CXfK>rt any $p«imcns of species li sted in the Schedule 11 to these

regulations.

(ot) No person dial! deliberately disturb an y spc:cin listed in

Sdledule 11 to these regulations particularly during period$ofbrecding,

rearing Or hibernation.

(I) The Director may io.sue permits for tile taking and

keepingof speci mens of species listed in Sched ules I and 11 tothese

regulations, or authorise the performance of any act which would

otMrwt5e not be permitted under these regulations, if such

applications are for bona {riU scientific studies or olher similar

purposes.

(b) TM period of val idity of such permits shall be at the

discretion of the Oiredor.

The Director may prohibit the importation of any species of

nora and fauna if in his opinion thi s importation can lead 10 the

endangering of the biological identity of the islands and their temtorial

wateD, or for other re3SCMtJ in tM national interest.

(a ) Any person who shall deliberately cut. uproot or damage

in any way any specimen of species listed in the attached Schedule I

to these regulations in contravention to these re,ulations. and lIty

person who contravenes any resniction . prohibition Or

requireme nt imposed by or under these regulalions. and any

person who conspires or attempts. or aids. abets. counsels or

procures any OIlier person 10 commit any of the above offences.

shall be guilly of an offence.

(b) Any person who sIl3 I1t~ke . o r attempt 10 take. kill or

attem pt to kill, Or posseu. sell by any method . buy, eldlange,

import or e~port or wilfully cause damage 10 any spec:irmn of

species Listed in the att ached Schedule 11 10 these regulations. in

co nnivention of these regula tions, and any peDOn who

oontravenn any restriction , prohibition or requirement imposed

by or under these re,ulations, and any person "'00 conspires or

anempu , or aids, abets, coun~ls or procures any other pcrwn to

comm it any orthe above offences, shall be ,uilty of an offence,

(c) Any peT50n ",ho oommils an offence against these

re,ulalions shall , on conviction , be liable 10 a fine (mulru) of nol

less than Lm2S for each specimen involved or to imprisonment for

a firsl offence, and 10 a fine (mullll} of not less than LmSO for each

specimen inW)lved, or 10 impri§Onmenl for a $eCOnd or subsequent

offence,
