IN exercise of the pIlwen;confcrrcd by section 4 of the Go~ernmen t

Lotteries Act. the Ministe r of Finan~ has made the following

regulations:-

I. These regulations may be cited as the Go~ernmen t Lollerie5

(Grand Lottery) (Ame ndmen t) (No. 3) Regulations, 1992 and shall be

read and construed as one with the Go~ern menl LoneriC$ (Grand L"'. ~""

Lonery) Regula tions. 1991 . hereinafter referred to II!; ~the principal t9\l1 .

regulationf· .

Regulation 3 of the principal regulations shall be amended as

follows

(a) for the proviso in paragraph (1) therrof, there shall be

substituted the following;

~ Provided that the Minister may by notice di rect thal the

lickelS participating in I part icular Grand Lonery of Malt a will

participate also in lhe EurOJ'C'an Lottery organ ised by the European

Association of Stale Loueries and Lottos and the prizes attached 10 that

European Lottery shall be those sel out in paragraph B orthe Schedule

(b)

for paragraph (2) thereof, there shall he substiluted the

following

~(2) Any one l ic~ e t in the Grand Lottery , hall be enti lled 10

only one prile of Ihal Lollery. H owe~eT. tickets winning a pri:u: in a

Grand Lottery to which a European Lone ry hu been combined shall

also participate in the draw of that combined European Lonery. ~.

For regulation 4 of the principal regulations there shall be

sub!itituted the following

organisers of the European Lottcry .~.

Reguhuion S of the principal rcgulations shall be amended 11$

follows

(a) paragraph (l) thereof sh all be deleted; and

(h) paragraph (4) thereof shall be renum bered as paragraph

(3) and the present proviso thncto ~ hall be ~ub!itit uted as follows

"Provided lh al if Malta is decl ared by the organisers of the

European Lottery 10 be Ihe winner of the European Louer~ Prize,

winning tick etls sold only will share equally that European Prize as set

oul in paragraph ·'B . European UJl1ery" of Ihe Schedule 10 these

regulations ....

For regulation 11 of the principal regulations the re shall be

substituted the following

"11. The Board shall meet during the draw and on such olher

dales and al such lime as the Oirector shall delennine. During the draw

of the European Lottery Ihe presence of the &lard shall nOl be

required .",

For regulation IS of the principal regulations there shall be

substituted the following

M]5 . The draw of the G rand Lottery shall be held publicly al Ihe

office of lhe Direcl0r, orat such other place as may from time to time be

appointed for the purpose by the Ministe r ill th~ preseoce of the Board

and of any member of the public pr~sent at the time. The draw of the

European Lottery shall be held nn such date , time alld at such place

appoinl~d by the Body organi sing the European Lottery , in which case

Ihe preseoce of Ihe Board is nOI required .H.

7, (I) For Ihe words ~SKEMA TA' PREMJIJIETH in th~

Maltese text of Ih~ schedule 10 Ihe principal regulations. Ihere shall be

iruencd the words "S KEDA TA' PREMJU IET H.

(2) For paragraph B of the SCHEDU LE OF PRIZES

conl ained in the principal regulations there shall be substituted the

following

FIRST PRIZE

If Malta is declared the winner of the European Prize, that prize

shall be shared equally between the holder!s of the sold winning ticket/s

only having all five (5) digits corresponding to, and in the same order of.

the five (5) digits forming the winning number drawn in the European

Lott ery.

If Malta is not declared the winner o f the European Prize each

ticket having all five (5) digits corresponding to, and in the same order

of. the five (5) digits fonning the winning number drawn in the

European wllery shall win a consol ation prize of LmIO,OOO. '".
